2000 COMPETITIVE EXAMINATION FOR ENGLISH / FRENCH / SPANISH / ARABIC INTERPRETERS A competitive examination for the recruitment of English, French, Spanish
and Arabic Interpreters will be held from 17 to 26 January 2000. The purpose
of the examination is to establish a roster from which present and future
vacancies will be filled. FRENCH INTERPRETERS : Applicants must have French as their main language, have a perfect command of French, an excellent knowledge of English and an excellent knowledge of Russian and / or Spanish, hold a degree from a university or institution of equivalent status at which French is the language of instruction, and have 200 days of experience as conference interpreters. Alternatively, candidates must hold a university degree from a recognised school of interpretation. SPANISH INTERPRETERS : Applicants must have Spanish as their main language, have a perfect command of Spanish, an excellent knowledge of English and French, hold a degree from a university or institution of equivalent status at which Spanish is the language of instruction and have 200 days of experience as conference interpreters. Alternatively, candidates must hold a university degree from a recognised school of interpretation. ARABIC INTERPRETERS: Applicants must have Arabic as their main language, have a perfect command of Arabic, an excellent knowledge of English, hold a degree from a university or institution of equivalent status at which Arabic is the language of instruction and have 200 days of experience as conference interpreters.
