DELEGATION
REPORT As planned there was a meeting on 29th October of the technical group which is studying the consequences of the ruling of the Court of First Instance of 16th July 1998. Here are the early conclusions of this group's discussions: · Financial compensation for any fiscal prejudice suffered because
of suspension of community tax at the Commission and the Court of Justice
is accepted in principle. Several methods of compensation are under study. The technical group is to meet again at the end of November. In the interim, the Commission will reflect on the various methods of compensation under consideration. A consultation is to be held on 12th November to consider progress made in extending Art 78 of the CEOS to all freelances working for the institutions. Outside the formal meeting the Delegation will check progress in this technical dossier with the Institutions. We will be able to provide information in greater detail at the sectoral meeting of 12th November. Call for expressions of interest: we have been informed that SCIC wrote to the President of AIIC to tell him that the Association has been selected to participate in negotiations for the new convention. However we still know nothing either about the other associations selected or about when negotiations will start. See you at the sectoral meeting on 12th November. .
