Jacolyn Harmer, teacher of interpretation at the Monterey Institute of International Studies will offer a seminar on Strategies for teaching Consecutive Interpretation.
This is the second of a series of pedagogical seminars organized by the AIIC Training Committee. Future seminars will cover other aspects of teaching conference interpreting. Participants receive a certificate of attendance from AIIC for each individual seminar attended. Those who attend all seminars will be awarded a certificate of completion for the full AIIC Training of Trainers series. This seminar will be held in English.
The seminar is designed for
- experienced conference interpreters intending to teach,
- conference interpreters with limited classroom experience wishing to enhance their teaching strategies,
- experienced teachers of interpretation interested in pooling pedagogical ideas.
Minimum attendance for seminar to be held (8). Maximum number of participants (20).
Cost of seminar
AIIC members: € 200.-
Non-AIIC members: € 250.-
Application deadlines
October 19, 2003: closing date for all applications.
Receipt of all applications will be acknowledged.
October 31, 2003: course participants will receive confirmation, a detailed program and paying instructions by this date.
November 15, 2003: final date for payment to secure a place on the seminar.
