Division of International Communications
Applications are invited for the above post in the Division of International Communications based at the University of Nottingham Ningbo, China. The Division is one of the founding academic divisions at UNNC and the degrees delivered run parallel to those offered in the School of Modern Languages and Cultures at the University of Nottingham in the UK. The successful candidate will provide academic and research leadership and effective management for all aspects of the work of the newly establish Interpreters' Institute.
Candidates must have a Postgraduate Diploma in Conference Interpreting, should be credited with major international organisations, with membership of AIIC and/or have a PhD in Interpreting or Translation Studies. Experience of teaching in relevant subjects at undergraduate and postgraduate level in an international English-speaking context and excellent communication and presentation skills in English and Chinese are also required.
Salary will be within the range £44,074 - £52,628 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience (salary can progress to £62,823 per annum, subject to performance). The post will be offered on a fixed-term contract with the University of Nottingham Ningbo, China for a period of three years with effect from 1 August 2008 (or an earlier date by mutual agreement), with the possibility of renewal.
