Within the framework of the first seminar of a new advanced cycle organized by the AIIC Training Committee, Barbara Moser-Mercer, professor of interpretation studies at the University of Geneva, Ecole de traduction et d’interprétation (ETI), will offer two workshops:
- An expertise-based approach to teaching interpreting
- Integrated assessment in interpreter training
Participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance from AIIC. This seminar will be held in English. Participants will have to complete several short activities on-line before attending the seminars.
The seminar is designed for:
- experienced conference interpreters intending to teach,
- conference interpreters with limited classroom experience wishing to enhance their teaching strategies,
- experienced teachers of interpretation interested in pooling pedagogical ideas.
Minimum attendance for seminar to be held: 8. Maximum number of participants: 20.
If enough people sign up, a second seminar covering the same topics will be offered on January 14 and 15 (am), 2006. Since this second seminar would overlap with the AIIC Assembly, AIIC members will have a priority on the first one.
